The global development of the climate and its consequences for humans and wildlife necessitate an increasingly efficient use of resources and an improvement in techniques, processes and procedures at all levels.

The threat to biodiversity and the reduction in reproductive capacity are consequences of this change, and TrophoSYS GmbH has made it its goal to counteract this negative development.

The basis of all life is the successful reproductive process. While research has long focused on the female aspect and countless improvements have already been achieved in this area, the male contribution is still rather neglected.

This has changed thanks to TrophoSYS. Leveraging its existing expertise in spermatology, the company has succeeded in developing a new procedural platform that enables the enhancement of fertility in various mammals through tailored applications, thereby fulfilling the desire for offspring.

TrophoSYS utilizes so-called MACS technology (magnetic activated cell sorting), which, with the aid of suitable proprietary derivatized magnetic particles and in-house developed media, quickly and gently removes membrane-damaged cells from the ejaculate without genetic modification. As a result, samples of particularly high quality remain, which generally improve fertility or even make fertility possible in the first place.

TrophoSYS has filed a patent application for this process and is already generating initial revenue in the cattle breeding sector. In horse breeding, the company, in collaboration with renowned institutions and partners, is preparing for the final study, which, if successful, will enable market entry and thus offer a new global solution for improving, preserving, and storing stallion semen.

Implementation in the field of human applications is already planned. The successful proof-of-concept was achieved in collaboration with a Munich cryocenter, and the parameters for a collaboration with a large, international partner are currently being defined.
