About Us

Innovation means both novelty and change. We focus on both, as they are essential foundations for meeting today's requirements for successful biotechnological processes.

TrophoSYS GmbH develops innovative technologies, processes and products, particularly for the male reproductive aptitude market, which make a significant contribution to improving fertility while using ejaculates gently and in a targeted manner.

Global reproductive capacity is declining, making the development of technologies that are especially safe for human health essential and a primary goal of our solutions and developments. Sustainable resource management, adherence to ethical principles, and the avoidance of genetic manipulation are paramount.

Analyse

We analyze a given situation, look for solutions, and focus on innovative processes and technologies that form the basis for improvement.

Concept

With our entire team, we take up ideas that have been found to be valid and, based on our experience and knowledge, develop a concept that enables successful implementation.

Implementation

The adopted concept will then be implemented with our team and suitable partners until it is ready for series production, in accordance with the planned milestones.

Quality

We place the highest value on first-class quality. Only products that meet our high quality standards and have been certified make their way to the customer. We ensure this quality through extensive product testing and studies.

Efficiency

Time is money – for our customers too. That's why we work with optimized processes and a well-coordinated team on site. This allows us to guarantee that our services are tailored to the customer's workflow.

sustainability

It is important to us that our technologies and processes are implemented sustainably, ethically, and in harmony with nature.

Our projects

Initial successes have already been achieved in a very short time, demonstrating that the combination of entrepreneurial experience and scientific expertise provides the best foundation for a successful project. This, combined with a high-quality network of partners, ensures that all individual projects can be implemented quickly and to a high standard.

Bild Reagenz

TrophoSYS' innovative methods enable, on the one hand, the improvement of breeding results through the separation of vital and non-vital cells in the ejaculate, and on the other hand, targeted breeding through the more efficient separation of sperm containing X and Y chromosomes.

With this method for separating vital and non-vital cells, the company is breaking new ground worldwide and is currently the only provider with this highly efficient technology. Device development has been completed, toxicity tests have already been successfully conducted, and the necessary field studies have been successfully concluded.

Our technologies are based on two main principles: firstly, the utilization of the different surface properties of the respective cell species, and secondly, the use of specially developed excipient concepts that significantly enhance the differentiation of these surface properties. The actual separation takes place in a device developed by TrophoSYS using a process that cannot negatively affect cell health or even genetically manipulate cells.

Bild Reagenz

The success of the separation technology, which was designed for cattle to date, has led TrophoSYS to already be taking preparatory measures to extend the technology concept to other mammals.

The adaptation of the process for horse breeding is already very advanced, and the optimization of stallion ejaculates is possible. The company is currently conducting a final, comprehensive study and, upon successful completion, will be able to provide a kit that will enable any breeder worldwide to independently optimize samples from their own animals.

Bild Reagenz

Due to recurring demand for the potential development of a solution for human applications, TrophoSYS has begun the conceptual design phase. In collaboration with a Munich cryotherapy center, a proof of concept has already been achieved, and the framework for a collaboration is currently being developed with a major international market player.

Our goals

With its innovative projects, devices and processes, TrophoSYS aims not only to create an economically successful model, but also to contribute to improving the global fertility opportunities of mammals through the use of new technologies.

The company has set itself the goal of developing separation technologies with the following properties:

Highly efficient and high-throughput capable

No impairment of cell health

No use of genetic manipulation techniques

Cost-effective

Location-flexible deployment

Application at the customer's site on demand

Consistent application by the end customer can thus increase the chances of fulfilling the desire for offspring, which on the one hand does not require any genetic manipulation and on the other hand is also highly efficient and cost-effective to implement.

TrophoSYS is thus developing urgently needed procedures that positively influence the future of fertility, are affordable for the individual, do not cause additional psychological pressure, and can be used with a clear conscience.

TrophoSYS gets the most out of your sperm, thus increasing your chances of offspring! We are convinced that we will be able to offer the methods we have developed to a broad audience in the future, for a wide variety of mammals, but also for human needs.

Our funding providers

The European Union and the state of Thuringia support the project:

"High-efficiency methods for sex-specific germ cell separation for sustainable animal breeding and qualitative improvement of the nutritional situation."

This support makes it possible to bring about lasting positive change in the field of animal breeding. Using TrophoSYS's methods, it becomes possible to achieve more efficient results without interfering with the gene pool of the respective species, thus improving the situation from both an economic and ethical perspective: innovative and gentle at the same time.

Our partners

Thanks to the many years of professional experience of the initiators and founders, TrophoSYS GmbH can draw on a broad network of competent partnerships, knowledge holders and experts who serve the goal of successfully developing future technologies and significantly influence its successful progress.

Against this background, the following partnerships are of particular importance, but represent only a small selection of the available expertise.
