Our approach for application in horse breeding

The success of the separation technology, which was designed for cattle to date, has led TrophoSYS to already be taking preparatory measures to extend the technology concept to other mammals.

The adaptation of the process for horse breeding is already very advanced, and the optimization of stallion ejaculates is possible. The company is currently conducting a final, comprehensive study and, upon successful completion, will be able to provide a kit that will enable any breeder worldwide to independently optimize samples from their own animals.

The trials conducted so far have all been very promising, and TrophoSYS has succeeded in applying the experience gained in developing OptiBOVINE to its use in horses and transferring the mode of action to stallion ejaculates in a very short time.

In parallel, a project is currently being planned in cooperation with the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) to identify possible positive effects of OptiEQUINE on in-vitro fertilization (IVF) in horses and to increase fertility rates here as well.

This positive development and the rapid adaptation to equine applications have already prompted the company to plan for future expansion of the product. Discussions are currently underway to establish a collaborative project with the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) to identify potential positive effects of OptiEQUINE on in-vitro fertilization (IVF) in horses, with the aim of increasing fertility rates in this area as well.
